TT joins the 10 mile club.

Jan2020127:34 p.m.

Another Friday long run due to busy weekend.

It was supposed to be an hour and a half and I figured if I did that I could reach 10 miles.

I had loads of pasta last night and lots of squash. Porridge, banana and honey and a Lucozade sports drink for breakfast, warmed up and stretched properly and set out at just gone half ten.

I took a gel out with me and some carbohydrate jelly beans.

I'll cut a (10 mile) long story short, as I'm visiting friends.

10 miles in just under 1 hour 37. There were a handful of short walks and a brief stop at a shop to buy some water to wash the sickly gooey gel down at around halfway. I don't know if it helped so I'll just assume it did and make that variety my gel of choice for VLM12.

Trying to chew a bean just got in the way of trying to breath.

So ten miles done, still 3 short of a half marathon! Another good week.

I'm not sure if I have to run longer/further next weekend or have a cut-back week. I'll leave it as a surprise for a while.

A 15 minute cold bath was good recovery for the legs.

The 120 mile drive to Norwich which followed was not ideal though.

Have a great weekend all.
