As diagnosed; a case of pre race jitters

Tonight, 5 miles in just under 45 minutes. It was steady but probably a bit slower than I thought I had done as I felt I was pushing a bit, certainly running at faster than race pace and yet it was only 9 minute miles. Still it was the third run at pace in three days so the muscles can be forgiven a slight drop in performance.
Day off tomorrow. Plan to put my feet up and do little ahead of long run on Saturday. Feeling very nervous about it. Can't afford anything to go wrong, no muscle twinges or strains as I have to complete it and complete it in a way that gives me confidence that I can go a further 5 or 6 miles in 4 weeks time.
Need to try and relax and hopefully that will relax the body and help to prevent injury. Lillywhitered was right the other day saying that I was getting a case of pre race jitters.
