Done

Can't run any more, been banned by my physio. My degenerative back disease will never get better all the time I put pressure on it by running, I have to find a no impact sport such as swimming (I hate it) or cycling (which I also hate) until it does imp...

Boring run tonight

Popped out for another 4 miler tonight, was going to go when Mitch was at football but I ate shortly beforehand and didn't think it would be sensible to run on a full stomach. Finally got round to doing a lap of IBM lake at 8:43pm, starting from my hous...

Attempted mugging?

Let's start with running then get to the boring personal bits that are here only so I can look back and see how things were. Sun 23rd. 4 miles, 46m 23s. WHAT? Less than 12mm? No way! The splits are 11:14 - 11:41 - 11:44 - 11:18. Where did that last mil...

Got it!

Figured out why my apps weren't working, apparently I had run out of 'data' on my phone so it wouldn't work out of the house.  I know nothing about these things, my kids have to tell me! As for running without apps, I do it sometimes. Runners tend to kn...

I give up...

...with technology! Got an old phone out of the drawer, charged it, added Runkeeper and checked it was all OK. It loaded perfectly, the map and everything else showed on the screen so I was set. Dropped 14 yr old son at football training, I then drove t...

Bloody apps!

Monday 17th July Distance-unknown                                                                                      Time - unknown                                                                                Everything unkown! That sums it up. I ...

15July

Distance - 4 Miles.                                                                                        Time - 50m 55s. Took walk breaks in the last 2 miles, back hurting.    Route - round the creek,  Peronne Road bridge, Limberline Spur, Rugby Club,...

Been busy

In the last month since my last entry I have been running quite regularly but the apps I used on my phone seem to have stopped recording them. Runkeeper and MapMyRun both went tits up and lost all data, not even saved on my PC. I found a new app to use ...

Confessional

Forgive me Realbuzz, it has been 6 days since my last entry, and run. I have reasons, not excuses. Though you may think maybe not. I ran last Friday, 2 miles, blogged it. Saturday - was a football tournament for my 14yr old boy, we sat in the sun all ...

It is warm out there..

..but I've been cracking on. I haven't stopped running, well, yesterday but that was a rest day. Usually my rest days are Monday and Friday but this week that plan seems to have gone tits up. 3 on Monday, 3 on Tuesday, I even did 3 on Wednesday. Again, ...

Unexpected

Wha the heck is going on? 3 miles on Sunday, OK, it's tradiotnally LSR  and it was an improvement on what I have been doing so I'll accept that. Monday, went out with Mrs K and 9 yr old on their bikes (on her fixed bike I might add). I often run round ...

Uneventful - but happy with that

Friday was a rest day. Didn't make it out yesterday, no reason other than laziness. The storm that started at 4:40am woke me up and I never really got back to sleep after that so I was tired most of the day (I didn't get to bed until 2am so there was a...

Peeing, hills and too far.

But not all in one run, thankfully.  Monday - Mrs K's birthday so nothing happened (run wise) Tuesday - was a weird run today. Did the 2 mile route. I needed a pee before I started but was in a public place so had to hold on for a bit, got somewhere s...

Off road eventually

After Wednesdays run I got a phone call from a frantic step mum, my dad was ill again with suspected septicemia. I rushed up to see them and spent most the day there. To cut a long story short I got stranded at Haslemere Station at 11:30pm, had to wait ...

CBA today

Really, I can't be a**** to run today. So I did. Runners eh, even when we aren't in the mood we still do it. Took the dog today so that meant no timer, no point if I have to keep stopping to sort him out. We did what has now become my regular two mile r...

Some little runs

Well I haven't given up again, just not blogged it. Mainly because the whole family have been ill, it started with my 14 yr old boy who complained of stomach ache. Like the caring dad I am I told him to man up, for four days! Eventually, after he was up...

2 again

Another 2 miles ticked off. Another non stop run ticked off. 5 miles in two days is a lot for me these days but it is done and I am happy with it. And it proves that if I keep going, keep at it, things should improve even more. I have noticed my back is...

Another two days

Yesterday (Tuesday) I left the dog at home and went out by myself. When I run with him I have to keep stopping for various dog related reasons and I wanted to see how far I could go without all the interruptions. Well pretty good as it turned out. OK, i...

The weekend

Wow, what a busy one that was.  I found time (between taxi-ing the kids around and shopping with the Mrs and before football) to fit in a run during the afternoon. I picked a route I had never been to before, a place called Betty Mundays Cottage. I used...

Still aching

But I did it although it wasn't easy. My back was stiff, my legs didn't want to work and I had negative thoughts all the way. There were altogether way too many other dogs about today so I had to keep stopping to control mine. He usually runs free off t...

Note to self..

..after a days driving (almost 200 miles) do not expect your legs to feel fresh and ready. Expect the opposite. So yes, after a lot of driving today I went for an intended 3 miles. I did an evening run as my son was at football training so to while awa...

Day 2

Just a little 1.75 ish miles today. Had a difference of opinion with a dog owner mid run today. Mine does not mix so when I see another dog I always put him on his lead, why do some other dog owners think that because theirs is friendly, mine is? There ...

First one

Duly entered the ballot today so went out for a run. No targets of time or distance, just run to see how far and how long it took. Did 2 miles (with two short walk breaks to put the dog on and off his lead), time was 24:15. I'll take that, if I was to ...
