Up at 6:30am this morning for an easy 2-miles, run at 10:06 mile pace. Like an old car on a cold winter's morning, it took me a while to get going, even with the usual 5-minute warm-up walk, but that was to be expected after 7 miles on Sunday and still feeling the effects of late summer hay-fever. I finally settled into my target pace after half-a-mile and apart from the occasional juggernaut thundering past me, enjoyed the run and finished in 19:50.
It was a gorgeous morning with clear blue skies though the nip in the air was a reminder that it won't be long before I'll need to start adding layers to my short-sleeve shirt and shorts. I've so enjoyed running in the summer months, even when it's got a bit hot (though Race 2 of the Yateley 10K series - 30C at the start of the race - really was too hot!). Running early mornings as well as some evenings has really made me appreciate my surroundings so much more.
Now looking forward to Thursday which will be quite a milestone ...
