By our deeds, we are known.

The fifth carnation of the blog title.  We have moved from "Best Eaten Cold" through "On a yard" and then we went on to "Getting it done."  They've all summed up how I've felt about running at the time.  I seem to be turning full circle - Brighton gave me my second taste of revenge, still a dish best eaten cold, and I returned to "On a yard."  And the new title?  Ah, well, we're Buzzers, and by our deeds we are known...

Carb loading in Manchester

Monday am weigh in - 2lb lost in the week; OK given the lack of training, but a lot more to be done. Conference time in Manchester Mon to Weds.  Always reminds me of the old training courses we used to have at EY; sit down for a session, move as far as ...

3 Rs

Had a lovely lie in to start the day, as we were sans kids for the morning.  To be honest, had a bit of a thick head after a glass of white too many last night.  That, coupled with the continued weather put paid to a run.  So, R and R for most of the da...

How many calories in a curry?!

Managed to get out for a run this morning - 3 miles or so cross country around Badminton.  Snow ankle deep in places - made it feel like double effort at least.  The sun was shining, the scenery was lovely, and it was great to be out! Then continued wit...

Wot no training?

Didn't manage to do any physical activity today, well apart from teaching ethics!  No way could I run the streets in the dark when i got home tonight.  Now starting to worry a bit as I read it'll be like this for at least another night. Anway, it didn't...

Skin those legs

First teaching day of the season; always good to get back in to it, although took some time - where are the notes etc.  Pretty much a first, as well; all students had at least coats on at some points of the day, some scarves as well. Indoor exercise tod...

Different exercise today

Blimey,  we had some snow overnight, although not as much as others just across the borders in Wiltshire. Made it in to work, mainly to be there and survey the damsge.  Managed to get 1 class out of 3 up and running.  Hung around for all of the 'is your...

Running in the weather!

Good run again at lunch, although the weather was a tad inclement; hail and then snow as I hit Temple Meads.  Anyway 6 miles, 51 mins.  Good! Got the donations web page up and running, so people know why I'm doing it.  Whilst I am in through the public ...

back to work

First thing for the day was a weigh in; 16st 10.  I cantell myself that it is the same as last year, to the pound!  But this time last year, I didn't have a marathon in 16 weeks! It was freezing today; some of the classrooms were showing a balmy 8 degre...

Not so good!

Both weather, and head, had been unkind over night! Head was self inflicted, but wouldn't on its own have prevented a run.  The roads were as sheets of ice, though.  Getting the 4 wheel drive up the hill to get home would be hard enough; I certainly di...

New year, first run

Out from the farmhouse at Nolton Haven.  Per Yazz, the only way is up.  A fair old climb up to the main road, and then a loop back down.  Mapmyrun claims that it was 4.75 miles; sounds about right for 45 mins, with a few glasses of wine still in the sys...

Amongst all the holiday-ing, ...

Another fab day, and it included one of my quickest miles ever as well, so that can’t be bad! We were out of the apartment by 10 this morning. Today’s first stop was Tjapukai Aboriginal Experience. Anna and I had been there before, but it’s grown a fair...
